When you give to the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting, you support efforts to increase and maintain the ranks, retention and profile of reporters and editors of color in the kind of journalism that significantly addresses, impacts and benefits the public interest.
The founders of the Society refer to it as pro-democracy and accountability journalism that often addresses issues that have long been ignored or dismissed by officials. The evidence is clear that diverse voices matter in the reporting and editing ranks because they help shape the kinds of issues that are being investigated.
As a trade organization, the Society has offered training and other professional development support to hundreds of aspiring and professional journalists since its inception. Those efforts were possible because of grant and donor support.
Now that the Society has relocated to Morehouse College, you can continue to support its transformative efforts by designating a gift to the Ida B. Wells Society through the Morehouse College Office of Institutional Advancement.
