The Center for Journalism & Democracy and the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting are thrilled to announce the return of the Data Institute, a two-week intensive, hands-on workshop on using data, design and code for journalism. This year’s free program will take place July 8-19 at Howard University in Washington, D.C.
The Data Institute has helped dozens of journalists develop new skills and a stronger support network since its launch in 2016. Each year, the program welcomes a small cohort of reporters at various stages of their careers — students, journalism educators, and working journalists — who are passionate about learning to tell stories with data.
Applications for the Data Institute will be open April 10-25. Here are more details about the program—if you have any questions, please reach out to team@cjddatainstitute.org!
